Product Safety Recalls AustraliaÂ in-conjunctionÂ withÂ Gore Ride-On Cable Systems have announced the Australian recall of Gore Ride-On Cable Systems Low Friction Brake cables. Â These are brake cables for Campagnolo not Shimano or SRAM brake systems.

Is that a clean chain or what? Ecovelo.info reports that this is how the chain and cassette looks after 500 miles (800 kilometres) since the last clean (read wax). Ecovelo adopts a rather different approach to chain cleaning from what I do, they wax the chain.

The Munda Biddi Foundation is offering a more advanced bike mechanics workshop in Dwellingup on Sunday June 19, 2011 between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM approximately.Â The workshop will include theoretical and practical sessions on how to service your bike, techniques to repair it after fun on the single track and how to keep it in good condition.
This post documents the maintenance history of my commuter, a Kinesis Racelight Granfondo Ltd. The bike build, specification and changes will be discussed in a forthcoming blog posting. In the meantime further details on the Kinesis can be found at the Kinesis Bikes UK website.
The purpose of this post is to summarise the service (maintenance and repair) history of the bike. It will be updated as time in the saddle warrants.

Replaced the standard Shimano Ultegra front brake pads with Kool-Stop Salmon pads. The Shimano Ultegra pads had been used for 11,964 km.
Replaced the KMC X10L Gold 10 speed chain (13,044 km) with a Connex by Wipperman 10s0 chain.

Moved the front Continental GP4000S 25 mm to rear and the rear tyre to the bin. Now running 25 mm front and rear.
Removed the Crud Roadracer mudguards. To bigger a pain when used with 25 mm tyres.

Rear wheel, a Halo Aero Rage broke a spoke so it went off to Churchill Cycles for a replacement.

|August 6, 2012||8,621 km||Completed a standard service. Have now fitted a Continental Grand Prix 4000s 700x25 to the front but it is pushing the limits of the Crud Roadracer Mk2 mudguards. 23 mm is a better size I feel.|
|March 10, 2012||7,647 km||Completed a standard service. Removed the SKS Chromoplastic mudguards (front one was damaged) and replaced them with Crud Roadracer Mk2 mudguards. Also fitted a new Garmin GSC 10 sensor for my Garmin Edge 800.|
