The City of Vincent, the home of the former Lake Monger velodrome is revisiting cycling within the city. The City is in the process of establishing its City of Vincent Bike Network Plan 2013 and has commenced the process by establishing an online survey and is also conducting a public forum on Monday December 3, 2013.

The City of Vincent has contracted AURECON Transport Engineers and Planners to develop the City of Vincent Bike Network Plan 2013.  The purpose of the City’s Bike Network Plan is to assesses existing infrastructure and to look at innovative ways of improving and expanding on what is currently in place. It is vital that the Plan improves the safety and connectivity of cycling within Vincent, whilst also providing an opportunity to improve facilities for other modes of active transport and promotes the health and environmental benefits associated with these sustainable modes.

The proposed plant is focused on some very positive short and medium term improvements in the City, as well as highlighting some longer term aims.

The City of Vincent Bike Plan 2013 needs your input

The CIty is holding a public forum on Monday December 3, 2013 at the Woodville Pavillion, Woodville Reserve, Cnr Namur and Fitzgerald Street, North Perth between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, This forum is describe as “a crucial opportunity for community members and other interested parties to highlight what improvements they would like to see in the City’s bike network.” So crucial that we have been given less than a week’s notice

If you cannot make the forum or don’t want to attend you can still input into development of the City of Vincent Bike Network Plan 2013 through the completion of an online survey which seeks to establish what community members concerns and interests are. The survey is available online at Survey Monkey or hard copies are available from the City of Vincent Library.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served at the Forum so please RSVP for catering purposes to Francois Sauzier, City of Vincent TravelSmart Officer at Francois.Sauzier@vincent.wa.gov.au or on the phone at 9273 6558.
