Gosnells Bicycle User Group Bikeweek Event on Saturday 27 March at 8.00am at Agonis Clocktower Gosnells

recreational cyclists Thanks to Jillian Woolmer at the Department of Transport for the heads-up on this event. Not for me but thought I would put it out there for any interested readers. Jillian writes:

Please do join us for the Gosnells Bicycle User Group ride as part of the Bikeweek Celebrations on Saturday March 27.  Bring a friend and introduce them to the pleasure of cycling.

Meet at the Agonis Clock Tower in Gosnells at 8.00 am for some stretches and warm up for the ride, bike check and helmet check and get to know other cyclists in the local area. Jet Cycles in Gosnells has agreed to do bike engraving for attendees.  You will need to bring your drivers license details.  These details are engraved at the bottom of the frame of the bike so that the bike can be returned to you if it is stolen.

Groups of cyclists will go on a ride using the quiet roads and recreational paths in the area. Longer rides are around 25km, shorter rides around 12km or you can just bring your bike to the Agonis and ride around the local area.   Bring some money and have a cup of coffee after the ride at Baileys Café under the Agonis Clock Tower.

Tony, Liz, Don, Rob, Toni and Phillip all rode in the Freeway Bike Hike last Sunday and others from GO BUG may have too.  I met Tony, Liz and Don after the event and they said it was great and that they had a good ride.  Bikewest staff on the ride said that they saw a few GO BUG members as they are very noticeable in their fluoro high visibility Cycle Instead shirts!  (Thanks Toni for helping Jana with her bike.)

Hope to see you Saturday.
