Horseshoe Bridge – Location of the detour during the closure

The Perth City Link project have advised that the Milligan Street footbridge will be closed from 8 PM on Tuesday March 5, 2013  until 4 AM on Thursday March 7, 2013 so that a section of the footbridge can be relocated.  This will of course impact on cyclists and pedestrians who use the footbridge.

The Perth City Link Project  are advising cyclists and pedestrians that they can cross between Roe and Wellington streets via the Horseshoe Bridge during the closure.  The Horseshoe Bridge is located roughly 500m to the east of the Milligan Street footbridge. Please see map for above for the alternative route.

Once the relocation is completed, the relocated section of the Milligan Street footbridge will sit on a completed segment of the Fremantle Line tunnel. This partial relocation allows Perth City Link work to continue on building a new cover over the Joondalup and Fremantle Lines.

Hopefully the works will go smoothly and the footbridge will reopen as scheduled.
