SR Suntour Suspension fork recallSR Suntour bicycle suspension forks have been recalled by Product Safety Recalls Australia due to a possibility that fork’s fixing bolt is affected by hydrogen embrittlement and may break.

SR Suntour Suspension Forks Defect

Product Safety Recalls Australia are advising that a small percentage of SR Suntour suspension forks may have fixing bolts affected by hydrogen embrittlement which may result in the bolt breaking the fork separating from the bicycle.

It appears seem that the recall is applicable to numerous bands of bicycles including Trek, Giant, Merida, GT and Scott. Basically if you purchased a bike with a suspension fork or SR Suntour fork between November 1, 2014 and May 30, 2015 you should check to see if it is a SR Suntour fork. I have uploaded a list of the recalled forks to my Dropbox. That might help with the identification.
