Product Safety Recalls Australia in-conjunction with FRF Holdings Pty Ltd trading as FRF Sports have announced the recall of MY2012 Argon 18 E-118 carbon-fibre framed time-trial / triathlon bicycles due to a defect that cause the handlebars to suddenly rotate, causing the rider to lose control of the bicycle and suffer personal injury.
The bicycles affected by the recall are the 2012 Argon 18 E-118. No other identifying information has been provided.  The bicycles affected by the recall where sold between October  1, 2011 and February 12, 2012 in the states of New South Wales, Queensland. South Australia and Victoria as well as in New Zealand.
The Argon 18 E-118 Fault resulting in the recall is an issue with the stem spacer fitted to this model. It seems that the stem spacer may not produce sufficient tension to securely fasten the handlebar to the stem and in certain circumstances may allow the handlebar to rotate.
