Back riding properly. Spent the early part of the week touring between Esperance and Kondinin which has helped my numbers at last :). Weekly average is 352 km a week. Would like to get back up to 400 km a week by year end.
On the weight front, I started the year in a less than healthy position at 103 kg. My weight at the end of the week is 99.2 kg. My target for the month end is 98 kg. On BikeJournal.com I have achieved my short term goal of getting back into the top 100. Now shooting for the top 50. In respect to the Australian Cycling Forums Club at BikeJournal.com I have now got back into the top 10, so maybe the top 5 is a possibility. |

Kondinin to Brookton: Back on bitumen all day. Good riding from Kondinin to Corrigan and then it got harder as the day wore on. |
Saturday, April 10, 2010 | 148 km on the bike 0 km running |
Brookton to Churchlands: The decision was made to cut the tour short and head straight back to Perth. Turned out to be a good decision but a hard ride for the first 100 km. |

Took a day off. |

Back to commuting after the tourer. Pretty straight forward ride north this morning. |

At last a coastal breeze in my favour! 50 km/h + gusts had me enjoying the ride from Joondalup down the coast; well it was good until the The Boulevard (location of the infamous Councillor Rod Bradley photo shoot) when the rain hit and boy did it hit. Cold and miserable from there until home. To cap things off, somewhere further north I lost a Fenix L2D light. Seems the mount gave way. |

Perth – April 14 AM – Churchlands to Joondalup: Rode north this morning into 50 km/h + head winds on the Surly Long Haul Trucker. Because of the winds I took to the Freeway bike path rather than the coast but still had a bit of a battle. Winds + heavy bike = hard ride. On the positive I got to check out the progress and diversion at Greenwood Station. The diversion does not seem a bit hassle. |
Thursday, April 15, 2010 | 30 km on the bike 0 km running |
Perth – April 15 PM – Joondalup to Churchlands: Rode south this afternoon with a moderate 20 km/h tail wind on the Surly Long Haul Trucker. Nice change from the summer breezes. Also had a bonus and found my Fenix L2D which I lost a couple of days ago. Still okay with the exception of the end-cap which I can replace. Time for new mounts me thinks. Oh also managed to ride around the rain which was passing through so a nice end to the week’s commuting. |
