RECALL: 2010 Easton EC90 Zero Seat posts

This recall of Easton 2010 EC90 Zero seat posts is a US recall administered by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission however given the nature of online shopping if one has one of these seat posts I recommended contacting Easton Cycling and/or the Australian distributor, Apollo Bicycle Co. Pty. Ltd for advice with regards to your seat post.

There is, at the time of posting no Australian recall notice issued by Product Safety Recalls Australia. The United States recall notice indicates about 200 seat posts are affected by the recall which suggests limited distribution of the seat posts.

The reported hazard is that that carbon top clamp of the seat post can crack resulting a possible “fall hazard to the user.”  I think of other hazards but will leave them your imagination. If you believe you have a recalled seat post your are advised to immediately stop riding the bicycle (or rather stop using the seat post) and contact any authorized Easton Sports retailer for a free replacement top seat clamp [US]. I would suggest Australian users contact the retailer they brought the post from and/or Apollo Bicycles.
