The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC), and its member Councils – Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, City of Belmont, Shire of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan – in partnership with Curtin University, hosted two community cycle network forums across the region during March 2011. These forum events were a huge success with over 100 people particpating in the identification of existing and future infrastructure for cycling in Perth’s Eastern Region. The data collected from these forums was be fed into the formulation of a Regional Cycle Master Plan to guide and inform the future provision of cycle infrastructure throughout Perth’s Eastern Region.

On 25 May 2011, ARRB Completed the Final Regional Cycle Network Masterplan. The final plan has been submitted to the Department of Transport for endorsement. This Masterplan was presented to the member Councils to inform key the stakeholders and decision makers of the Masterplan to assist them when planning for the expansion and maintenance associated with their respective cycle networks. The Masterplan will also be presented to Council in early July for endorsement.
