Looking Back at 2011 – A blog review

As it is January 1, 2012 I thought I would allow myself a little indulgence and take a moment to look back over 2011 and see what posts attracted the most interest with you the readers of the blog; what search terms were the most popular what you clicked on.

A Cycling Happy New Year

Happy New Year @ Bicyclog

The most popular search term was “surly long haul trucker” which in-turn lead to the post popular page in 2011, my build notes on my Surly Long Haul Trucker.

This is a reinforcement for me that there is a demand for information on the net about bicycles and about their build/setup and in particular about “iconic” bikes such as touring bikes like the Surly Long Haul Trucker.

For the record the other top five posts in 2011 where

  • TRAIL NOTES: Cape to Cape Walk Trail Notes
  • WALK REPORT: Bibbulmun Track – Kalamunda to Albany
  • Bicycling
  • Bushwalking

Again it is encouraging to see pages written as resources for the community are attracting so much interest. It is also good to see an interest in outdoor activities.

Looking forward in 2012 this moment of reflection reminds me to keep fresh these key pages and to consider developing additional resource focused pages as this seems to be where the interest lays.

Thanks for your support in 2011. May 2012 be a safe one for you and your family.
