Catbike Musashi recumbent bicycle recalled

Product Safety Recalls Australia in-conjunction with Big Cat HPV has announced the recall of Catbike Musashi Recumbent Bicycles due to the possibility of the bicycles frame cracking.

It would appear from an Australian perspective that only six Catbike Musashi recumbents as sold in Australia are impacted by this recall, given that Product Safety Recalls Australia have provided the following specified serial numbers:

CBM0007, CBM0008, CBM0009, CBM0010, CBM0012, CBM0021

The bicycles where sold in Australia between September 1, 2011 and December 1, 2011 by Flying Furniture Cycles and Recumbent & Specialised Cycles.

The reported defect with the Catbike Musashi is that the frame may crack during use which may result in the rider loosing control resulting in the possibility of serious injury.

    Hey there. I have CBM0008 in the least likely place you would expect – Darwin! ( although due to the recall it is now CBM290). All fixed now. Great site. Cheers!

        Not many at all really…I’ve only seen one trike and a guy on a homebuilt long wheelbase bike. Doesn’t bother me too much though as I get heaps of waves and smiles, especially from the kids. One guy even ran his car into a gutter last weekend as he was more interested in looking at me on my bike than the road!
