Product Safety Recalls Australia in-conjunction with Advance Traders Australia Pty Ltd has announced the recall of 2012 Centurion Cross Speed 2-V flat-bar bicycles due to the possibility of the breakage of the fork-steerer.
If you ride one of these entry level flat-bar bicycles please review this recall information carefully and contact your Merida retailer who it seems are the retailers of Centurion bicycles for advice. This is a serious defect which if left unattended could result in serious injury or worse.
Centurion Cross Speed 2-V recall specifications
All Centurion Cross Speed 2-V 2012 bicycles have been recalled. Whilst the model year is 2012 this means that the bicycles could have sold as early as 2011 so even if you brought your bike prior to 2012 it would still be idea to talk to your Merida dealer. Centurion Cross Speed 2-V defect
The reported defect with the Centurion Cross Speed 2-V is that the fork-steerer may break during use which may result in the rider loosing control resulting in the possibility of serious injury or worse.
The affected bicycles contain a steel fork-steerer which may break at the lower steerer tube.

If you have a Centurion Cross Speed 2-V bicycle you should immediately stop using the bicycle and you should contact your local Merida dealer to have a replacement fork fitted.
