The City of Stirling has confirmed that they will be running bicycle maintenance workshops in October and November 2012 and that they plan to continue the workshops monthly in 2013 starting in January. The October workshop is being held on Monday October 15, 2012 and the November workshop on Monday November 19, 2012. Both workshops run in the evening between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
The workshops will cover:
- Minor adjustments to your bike (seat handlebars etc)
- Cleaning and maintenance if there is time.
The City of Stirling will have a supply of ‘stunt wheels’ available on the night for attendees to take home so that they can practice taking the inner tube in and out without worrying about doing damage. They will also provide a puncture repair kit, snacks and drinks, and handouts.
The workshops are being held at Stirling Depot, Natalie Way, Balcatta. The cost of the workshop is $10.00 which should be paid in advance to secure a place. To book a place please phone Joanne Burgess, City of Stirling Travelsmart Officer on 9345 8910 with your credit card in your hand.
Workshops are limited to 15 persons so book in quickly.
I think this is a great initiative by the City of Stirling and hope that the workshops are well supported.
