It seems that Perth’s Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) is planning two public forums for discussion of the Regional Cycle Network Master Plan.
Details of the Regional Cycle Network Master Plan seem to be lacking as I was not able to locate a copy on the Council’s website, however there was reference to it on the Transports Project Update page:
A regional funding submission prepared by EMRC and submitted by the Shire of Kalamunda for a Regional Cycle Infrastructure Masterplan has been successful in obtaining matching funding from the Department of Transport through the Perth Bicycle Network (PBN) Local Government Grants.
This project seeks to address regional connectivity of local bike plans, particularly barriers to accessing employment and activity centres. The outcome of this project will provide Perth’s Eastern Region with a plan that identifies existing and new paths that need realignment and/or development in order to have cycle paths that connect across member Council boundaries.
The masterplan is one of five priority regional projects identified in the Report of Investigations into Cycle Tourism that is considered to offer greatest benefit to Perth’s Eastern Region. This project will progress the regional priority ‘To improve the planning and development of cycle infrastructure in Perth’s Eastern Region’.
The project was launched at a workshop held in early November with member Councils, the Department of Transport, and other stakeholders to gather input to the development of the project. It is anticipated that community consultation will be sought from early 2011.
To express your interest in taking part in the community consultation for the Regional Cycle Infrastructure Masterplan in early 2011 please contact Juarna Partington on 9424 2238 or firstname.lastname@example.org.Â

The Bicycle Transport Alliance is reporting that two public forums will be held to discuss the plan. Those forums are scheduled for:
Monday, March 14, 2011 from 5:45pm to 9:00pm at Guildford’s Landing Function Centre, 114 Swan Street, Guildford and again on Monday, March 21 2011 from 5:45pm to 9:00pm at the City of Bayswater, Embleton Room, 61 Broun Avenue, Morley.
If you are able to get to either forum, feedback on the outcomes would be appreciated.
